Level 4 Quality Practitioner Apprentice – TT Electronics plc
Hear from Lauren Bonnington of TT Electronics, who recently completed her Level 4 Quality Practitioner Apprenticeship, going on to achieve a Distinction with us at Whyy? Change!
What does your education/career journey to date look like?
After leaving school I completed a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship and found a keen interest in Quality during this time. I pursued this interest and moved to a Quality Assurance role while starting my Quality Practitioner journey at Whyy? Change.
What skills were you looking to develop before starting your apprenticeship?
I was looking to develop my knowledge of quality tools and techniques, as well as strategies to promote quality, ensure continuous improvement and eliminate waste in my company’s processes. I also wanted to develop my soft skills such as confidence which Whyy? has definitely helped me with.
What is it like to study at Whyy? Change? Any examples where we’ve gone the extra mile?
I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying at Whyy?. The team was so supportive, and my tutor was very knowledgeable and always happy to help. Whyy? also continually added extra value to my learning through Lean & Six Sigma and ISO 9001 Foundation courses.
How have you applied what you’ve learnt on your apprenticeship at TT Electronics?
I apply my new skills every day in my workplace – both what I have learnt from my KSBs and the soft skills I have developed. I use my learning in all I do such as audits, working with stakeholders and when promoting improvement.
What surprised you the most about Whyy? Change?
The attention to detail from Whyy? compared to what I had known previously, especially the small group sizes – they were very personal, and I developed great working relationships with the whole group.
Would you recommend us to other apprentices, if so why?
I fully recommend and endorse Whyy? Change as a training provider, I have improved my knowledge and skills greatly to support my career thanks to their expertise and passion for what they do.
What advice would you give to other apprentices?
My advice to other apprentices would be to familiarise yourself with your KSBs as soon as possible and to never stop asking questions – the team and your peers are there to support you!
