We were happy to help raise £6,400 for local charities by supporting Gripple’s Gatsby Charity Gala last week, which was hosted by the company’s graduate apprentices.

Ray Byrne and Alan Roddis from Whyy? Change attended the Gatsby Charity Gala on 16 February, where they mixed with executives and apprentices in a glamorous, 1920s themed setting.

Ray Byrne, CEO of Whyy? Change said:

“There was such fantastic support for the charity fundraiser. We were very pleased to attend and to contribute to the success of the evening’s fundraising efforts.

“Well done to everyone involved in organising the event, especially Rachel Atkinson and the Gripple apprentice team.”

Supporting local charities

The Gatsby-themed gala raised an amazing £6,400. This is being split equally between four fantastic charities:

  • St Luke’s
  • The Cavendish Cancer Care
  • Whirlow Hall Farm Trust
  • Jessop Wing

Tasha Lyth of Gripple added:

“Our mission for the evening was to bring together both local and national companies whilst celebrating the great work of these fantastic Sheffield based Charities.”

Why apprenticeships work

At Whyy? Change we offer apprenticeships in leadership and management, which is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), project management, which leads to qualifications with the International Project Managers Association (IPMA), and continuous improvement, which follows the standards that are adopted by BT Group Plc, Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd and Jaguar and Landrover Ltd.

The Government’s new apprenticeship service allows you and your business to have control of your apprentice budget and your training provider. This means you can work with us as a RoATP registered provider to make sure your apprentices are learning what’s important to them and to you.

We test and challenge our apprenticeship learners to be the best they can be. We keep a focus on helping you to achieve your business outcomes. An apprentice doesn’t have to be a new employee – it can be a current member of your team who would like to develop their skills and enhance their career prospects.

Find out more about our apprenticeships and talk to us about how we can help your employees to grow.
